The Star Wars Legacy Continues…In Good Hands

Was J.J. Abrams intimidated when he was first approached and asked how he felt about directing Star Wars: Episode VII? It’s hard to believe someone who has directed films such as Star Trek, Star Trek Into Darkness, Mission: Impossible III, and Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol would feel this way. Star Wars Producer, Kathleen Kennedy believes Abrams had the same initial thought most people would in this situation, “which is…it’s daunting.”  It certainly goes without question that Abrams will have some big shoes to fill. The Lucas legacy will be in good hands with a roster like Abrams, Academy Award winning screenwriter Michael Arndt who is best known for his work on Toy Story 3 and Little Miss Sunshine, and director / screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan, known for films Raiders of the Lost Ark and Star Wars: Episode V & VI. It might be a couple years until Episode VII hits the theaters, but most importantly as stated by Kennedy, “the timetable we care about is getting the story.” Star Wars fans sit tight, if it’s going to be done right, it’s going to take a while.
